Why are sealants important?
Sealants are a thin plastic covering on the biting surfaces of the molars. They cover areas which are prone to decay from food getting stuck in the grooves.
About Dr. Kristy
Kristy Cupelli D.M.D. is a 1983 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School
of Dental Medicine. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society
and upon graduation received the International College of Dentists Award which is
given in recognition of outstanding leadership. She served as Chief Resident during
her specialty training at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and continues to maintain
her hospital affiliation there. “Dr. Kristy” practiced in the Oakland/Shadyside
area for 11 years before opening an office in the South Hills in 1997.
Since opening her first office on McMurray Road, Dr. Kristy has upgraded to a larger
facility on Drake Road, just minutes away from the old location. The office is a
state-of-the- art facility offering a bright and cheerful environment designed to
